A double-deck conveying system integrated with the existing installation to separate coal and gangue transport while making full use of a highly constrained site.
Located in the mountainous area of Fuyuan County, Yunnan, Xinxin Coal Mine produces 1.2 million tonnes of premium coking coal annually for major steel plants in Yunnan and Sichuan. Changes in mining geology created a new requirement to transport coal and gangue separately.
The route was constrained by the local terrain and existing facilities. The solution had to satisfy steep-gradient, high-lift duties, control investment cost and retain as much of the existing infrastructure as possible.
After repeated site surveys, measurement and technical reviews, Zhengong engineers designed and manufactured an upper-and-lower conveying system with coordinated drives, brakes, take-up and safety protection, integrated reliably with the existing system.
The project progressed from initiation to implementation over six months and was successfully installed and commissioned in May 2023. The system provides independent coal and gangue transport within a highly confined arrangement.
The system has operated reliably since commissioning, achieving complete separation of coal and gangue transport while maximizing reuse of existing facilities and controlling modification cost. It is a representative Zhengong double-deck steep-angle conveying project.
